For the fifth and final single in advance of his “Trip to Sanity” album, Oliver Koletzki teams up with a true heavyweight of the scene – the techno-pop-legend that is Fritz Kalkbrenner. The result, “Heart on Hold”, marries Kalkbrenner’s unmistakable vox and emotive lyrics with Koletzki’s punchy production, lacing atmospheric synths through a brooding bass-line and driving beat.

On the latest and fourth single proceeding Oliver Koletzki's 10th album "Trip to Sanity", the Berlin maestro masters myriad moods to impressive effect. The kick-off "Space Papi" set a light tone being a fruity 3am banger that favours bounce over brute force: Koletzki takes no prisoners in regard to dance floor damage by way of the track's moreish bassline and a healthy dose of white noise grandeur. True to its title, the EP's namesake "Pleasure of the Very First Time" then bubbles over with playful twists and turns, zigzagging sprightly across its indie-dance thump. Lastly, "Mind Games" takes a turn for darker territories, elevating an almost claustrophobic atmosphere at its outset with Natascha Polke's mesmerizing vocals before blossoming into a rich apex in its second half, ready to leave you breathless.

On “Candyflip”, the third sneak peek of his forthcoming “Trip to Sanity” album, Oliver Koletzki shifts gear and puts the pedal to the metal. The EP’s title track is pure forward momentum with its neon synth euphoria that rushes over a muscular body, generously pairing menacing bass with percussive storytelling. Next up, the arppaggio-driven “Mantra for Bora” settles somewhere between Psy-Tech and Italo, craftily working tropes of both into a climax of total dissolution. No matter the elements, one thing’s clear – Koletzki is ready to overtake. “Chasing Holes” then literally flips the candy on its head, taking off on auto-pilot, fueled by flamenco guitar licks and funky hand drums a-top a strong house groove. A word of advice, fellow ravers: Buckle up for a joyride through the depth of night – sunrise is on the horizon.

Party people, superfriends, podcasters and back-to-back buddies: This ain't the first time DJ heavyweights Oliver Koletzki and andhim join forces. On 'Made of Wood', his ninth full-length album, Oliver Koletzki embodies the seasoned craftsman, carving out his deeply personal sonic sculptures with a confident, learned hand, while experimenting with a broad range of thrilling ideas and fresh textures. Initially written in Tulum in late 2019, Koletzki completed the album in Berlin aided by numerous live musicians and vocalists, bringing his sketches to life with a focus on wooden instruments like djembes, marimbas, santoors or duduks, thus sculpting a natural sound that's warm in timbre, rich in groove and literally made of wood. 'Copal', the first of two advance EPs, captures the essence of Oliver's approach, teasing the release with its floor-focussed shaker of a title-track and the handpan-driven epic that is 'Cryptozoology'.
